Meet King

King Jones, Therapist/Brain Mapping Specialist

Hello, my name is King Jones. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families. I earned my bachelor’s degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and completed my master’s degree in social work from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have enjoyed working with children since I was a camp counselor in my late teens and I have pursued opportunities through my professional career to help children and adolescents with mental and behavioral health needs. I have worked in multiple treatment settings including a wilderness treatment facility, a day treatment facility, and in an outpatient therapy office.  I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and have also completed certification through the Child Trauma Academy through Phase I of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics™ (NMT™). This allows me to complete NMT™ Metrics, also referred to as “Brain Maps,” that provide an organizational picture of an individual’s brain development. These NMT™ Metrics are used to assist caretakers in better understanding how an individual’s history impacts current functioning and to recommend interventions that can help the individual and his/her support system.

At this time, completion of NMT™ Metrics is the only service I provide at CFMC.  More information on NMT™ can be found here.
