My name is Casey Jones. I am the founder and co-owner of CFMC. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW), and a Perinatal Mental Health Certified therapist (PMH-C). I completed my undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtained my Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Through my professional work, as well as my personal life, I have developed a deep desire to promote healthy, strong, and functioning families. This desire is the heart behind our mission and goals at CFMC.

I specialize in the treatment of women through a variety of experiences, such as: depression, anxiety, overwhelm, adjustment, relationship challenges, parenting difficulties, big life decisions, transitions, and grief. If you are struggling, I will hold space for you and assist you in finding relief, as well as identifying your next steps. I also work with women who have experienced traumatic events and help them to feel safe, regulated, and whole again.

In addition to general mental health support, I am certified in perinatal mental health and have been trained specifically in perinatal loss and perinatal trauma. Working with women and their support systems through family planning, fertility challenges, miscarriage, perinatal (pregnancy and postpartum) mood disorders, traumatic birth experiences, and infant loss is something I am passionate about. It is my joy and honor to walk beside women through these events that can bring with them a variety of thoughts and feelings.

Before working with adult women, I worked for over a decade with children as both an elementary school teacher and a child and adolescent therapist. A primary focus of my work was related to attachment and helping families through processes of foster care and adoption. While I no longer work with children, I continue utilizing my training and knowledge to support parents and guardians of children who are in foster care or have been adopted.

Through all of my work I have found that relational wounds and traumatic experiences are a primary reason individuals come to counseling. In order to best support clients, I have received specific training in therapeutic approaches to help individuals process trauma. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and utilize elements of somatic therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy to help with trauma processing and healing.

In general, I work from a person-centered, strengths based, and solution-focused perspective and pull from a variety of treatment modalities to best meet each client’s individual needs.  While I have mentioned some modalities above, I recognize that the most important and influential factor in your therapeutic success is the relationship you develop with your therapist. It is my hope that when we work together, you will feel safe, respected, heard, and supported.

In addition to my professional work, I serve as a the board chair for Postpartum Support International's North Carolina Chapter. I also serve as an advisory board member for the local Charlotte area nonprofit Mind Body Baby, and served four years prior on their governing board.

Casey is licensed and available to support in-person and telehealth clients in North Carolina and South Carolina.
