My name is Casey Jones. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), a Perinatal Mental Health Certified therapist (PMH-C), and the founder of Carolina Family and Maternal Counseling (CFMC). I completed my undergraduate education at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and obtained my Master of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Through my professional work, as well as my personal life, I have developed a deep desire to promote healthy, strong, and functioning families. In my practice, I enjoy working with issues related to individual and family health. I have extensive experience in working with children and adolescents with anxiety, depression, oppositional and defiant behaviors, and issues related to attention, hyperactivity, adjustment, attachment, and trauma. I have worked with many families through the processes of reunification, foster care, and adoption. Additionally, I specialize in the treatment of women and their support systems struggling with infertility, miscarriage, perinatal mood disorders, and traumatic birth experiences. I work from a strengths based and solution-focused perspective and pull from a variety of treatment modalities to best meet each client’s individual needs. Therapeutic approaches utilized in my practice include: cognitive behavioral therapy, behavioral therapy, mindfulness, attachment-based play therapy (based on elements of Theraplay), solution-focused therapy, Triple P Parenting, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to my professional work, I serve as a board member for Postpartum Support International's North Carolina Chapter, as well as the local Charlotte area nonprofit Mind Body Baby.
