Adolescents & Children
Counseling Services

You may recognize that your child is struggling, but are unsure of what’s really going on or how to help.  Or perhaps an outside supporter, such as a teacher or a coach, has alerted you to the behaviors or needs of your child and now you’re wondering how to get the support your child needs.  At CFMC we specialize in identifying adolescent and childhood challenges by using a variety of therapeutic approaches to overcome barriers that prevent them from functioning at their highest potential.  We utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to address adolescent and childhood issues, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), behavioral therapy, mindfulness, solution-focused therapy, EMDR (in cases of traumatic events), and elements of Theraplay.

Additionally, if you find yourself at a loss for how to parent your child or adolescent, we may be able to help. We follow the work of Dr. Daniel Siegel and Dr. Tina Payne Bryson and believe in working toward addressing the needs of the “whole child.”  Also, we have training in Triple P Parenting for children between the ages of 0-12.  If you are seeking parenting support or are concerned about any of the following symptoms or behaviors, we may be able to help:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression

  • Irritability/Moodiness

  • Attachment

  • Adjustment

  • Oppositional and/or Defiant Behaviors

  • Social Skills

  • Attention-Deficit and/or Hyperactivity and Impulsivity

  • Loss and Grief

  • School Related Behavior Difficulties

  • Childhood Trauma (Medical/Accidents/Loss/Abuse/Neglect/Exposure to Domestic Violence and/or Substance Abuse)
